A sampling of page layouts, site features, and seasonal refreshes for M.M.LaFleur.

One of my main design responsibilities at M.M.LaFleur has been the homepage (one example above). It’s the perfect place for experimentation and A/B testing because it needs to be updated frequently to stay fresh and eye-catching to returning customers and it gets a lot of traffic so we can get quick feedback. There are a few more homepage examples below.

The videos above and below show the general layout of a page we referred to as the “shop page” – a visual encapsulation of the navigation and an opportunity to feature special categories like “Machine-washable” or “Power Casual.” The top video shows the full layout and the bottom video shows a few examples of the many seasonal refreshes the page required.

I designed the page below as a template for a lookbook that would serve as the primary landing page for new collection launches. We used it for the first time in the page that’s shown below, but as with all custom Wordpress elements, once they’ve been built you can duplicate them and refresh the images as many times as you want. This was our go-to lookbook for about a year.

The page below is an example of a landing page I designed for an International Women’s Day marketing campaign. Over time, our custom Wordpress elements became modular. So rather than design individual landing pages to be developed I made design requests for specific additions or edits to our Wordpress “stripe collection.” This allowed me to use Wordpress to easily put together pages like this (and many others) without any engineering work.

Below is an example of a project that a UX Designer led where I provided visual design assistance. The project was to revamp our PDPs (Product description pages) with the goal of increasing add to cart rates. I provided the icons for the product attributes and design critique on the styles and typography. We also worked together on the stripes where the complimentary content is added below the main product information. This was M.M.’s first foray into using Contentful as a CMS rather than Wordpress so we were able to design stripes that blend in seamlessly with the rest of the PDP. Ultimately, the overall redesign and the inclusion of PDP stripes on any individual PDP were successful at increasing the add-to-cart rates.
